• Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) in the US ensures that medical education programmes leading to the MD degree meet required standards

• General Medical Council (GMC) in the UK monitors medical schools in England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland

• Australia Medical Council (AMC) accredits medical schools across Australia and New Zealand
