Nigel Firth

Nigel has a wealth of experience in the UK legal education sector having worked first as a qualified lawyer and then an associate professor of law for over 30 years.

He obtained a high 2:1 LLB (Hons) from Sheffield University and a postgraduate diploma in Law before starting his career as a Company/Commercial lawyer at Browne Jacobson and Womble Bond Dickison solicitors. He then moved into academia working at Nottingham Law School as a course leader, helping to develop their undergraduate and postgraduate courses, before becoming head of Law at Plymouth University. He has a wide range of teaching expertise with specialisms in Business Law, Criminal Law and Dispute Resolution. He has also been involved in practical legal skills training with a variety of national and international law firms.

Having had roles as an admissions lead and employability advisor, he is well versed in the requirements for making a successful university application and the skills and attributes that law firms and other employers are looking for.

Nigel is an experienced personal tutor, who has consistently received very positive feedback from his students over the years.

In his spare time, Nigel enjoys cycling, cooking, being in the great outdoors and spending time with his family.
